Eugene ‘Dean/Gene’ Sebion

Eugene “Dean/Gene” Earl Sebion, age 74 of Baldwin passed away June 25, 2017 at his home.

Dean was born on February 12, 1943 in Los Angeles, California; the son of Earl and Anita (Larson) Sebion. He grew up in Spring Valley, and graduated from Spring Valley High School, Class of 1961. Dean enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a Torpedoman. He was united in marriage to Jean Wieberdink on May 27, 1967 at the Hammond United Methodist Church. Eugene worked as a crane operator with the Operating Engineers Local 49 in Minneapolis; and later in his career worked as a training instructor in Hinkley, MN for the Local 49.

Dean loved God and took the time to live by His teachings. He took great pride in being a loving husband and a father, and always placed a firm value in being a selfless, caring person. Dean loved spending time with his grandson Milo, who considered him his best friend and called him “Papa.” He enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers and followed them to all their recent Super Bowl appearances. Dean was fond of his hobby farm and taking care of the Hereford cattle and all his other animals. He was at home on his Oliver tractor and collected anything and everything he could find related to Oliver Tractors.

Dean is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean; children, Troy (Jeanne) and Deanna; grandson, Milo; siblings, Julie (Toby) Tobiassen, Bonnie (Jack) Hannack, Kenton (Gloria) Sebion; sisters-in-law, Kay (Curt) Lindquist and Joan (Paul) Sawyer; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by an infant son, Arthur; and his parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., noon, on Thursday, June 29 at the New Centerville United Methodist Church, on County Road Y, East of the intersection of County Road Y and County Road M, New Centerville. Visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Interment at the Greenwood Cemetery in Emerald, WI.
