Dean Larson

Dean Allen Larson, age 83 of Hudson, died peacefully Saturday, March 11th 2017 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson. Dean was born on June 27, 1933 in Hudson; the son of Alfred and Alice (Anderson) Larson. A lifelong resident of Hudson, he attended 4th Street Elementary before graduating from Hudson High School in the class of 1952. Following graduation, he enlisted in the Armed Forces where he proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On November 15, 1952, he was united in marriage to Audrey Petersen at the First Baptist Church in Hudson.

Dean worked in the wholesale hardware business. He worked thirty-two years for Farwell, Ozman, and Kirk before completing his career with United Hardware, which included Hardware Hank Stores. He also worked part-time for Langula Hardware in West St. Paul on weekends.

Dean appreciated the little things in life. He thoroughly enjoyed time spent with family and friends at their hunting cabin in Gordon, WI. When he and his brother Ken didn’t hunt, they enjoyed taking care of all the meals for the guys. He also liked golfing and playing cards; cribbage and 500 were his favorites. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan as are most of the Larsons. If you knew Dean well enough, you knew he enjoyed collecting all things John Wayne and had a room in his house dedicated to “The Duke” to prove it. Dean was a member of the First Baptist Church, Hudson VFW, the Hudson Booster Club and served on the board of the Hudson Senior Center

Dean will live on in the hearts of his wife of 64 years Audrey; children Nadine (George) Madson, Lynn (John) Netwal, Steven (Grace) Larson; brother Kenneth (Pat) Larson; grandchildren Lindsay (Ami) Kilchevsky, Kyle (Beth) Madson, Daniel (Olga) Netwal, Adam Netwal, Domenique Larson; and great grandchildren Olivia, Colin, and Golan.
