Debra Kay Weisert

Debra was raised in Northern Minnesota and attended Blackduck High School. She graduated from Concordia College, St. Paul, MN in 1979. She served in both the US Navy and US Marine Corps during the 1980’s. She lived with her family for several years in the Green Bay, WI area, completing her degree in teaching while working in small business. She taught in Hurley, Hudson and Manawa school districts, retiring this summer due to a long term battle with cancer. True to her organizational style, she chose to leave for a birthday party with her favorite aunt in heaven, exiting before the disappointing presidential election results were final.

Debra is survived by her daughter, Joy Holl, two grandchildren Myla and Ryan, and her sister, Heidi Weisert-Peatow.

An interment service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery (Assembly Area #3), 7601 34th Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN.
