Gladys M. Schulze

Gladys Mae Schulze (nee: Lehto), age 82 of Hudson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 16 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson.

Born March 5, 1930, she grew up in Linden Grove, MN. She graduated as a high school teacher from University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1951. Gladys taught in many capacities on the Iron Range, in the St. Croix Valley, and for the University of Minnesota-Twin Cites Extension Service. Gladys was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed working in the children’s and woman’s organizations. Music was the corner-stone of her life. She was proud of her Finnish heritage, spoke Finnish fluently and visited Finland many times.

Gladys is survived by her children, Gretchen (Mario) Escobedo, Jeannine Santholzer, Brenda Schulze, Loretta (Steve) Lyons, and Gordon Schulze; grandchildren Brandy (Matt) Schwartz, Richardo Escobedo, Rojana Santholzer, and Andres (Sarah) Escobedo; and the lights of her life were her great grandchildren, Brian and Cassidy Schwartz.

Funeral services for Gladys will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 5:00p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2140 N. Hadley Rd., Oakdale MN. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
