Carolyn Beam

Carolyn Dyanna Beam, age 68 of Ellsworth, formerly of Red Wing, died Friday, August 18, 2023 at the Ellsworth Health Services Care Center following a brief illness. Carolyn was born on June 9, 1955 in San Diego, California; the daughter of David and Mary Elizabeth (Satterfield) Bryant.  She was raised in San Diego where she graduated from high school. She was married to Billy J. Barragan to which a daughter Christina was born and blessed their little family. Sadly, Billy died in 2001 leaving a large void in the family.   Carolyn and Christina became very close following Billy’s death. They lived in Red Wing, Minnesota. Christina herself would marry and be bestowed with three children. The grandchildren Ryan, Remy, and Rowen were the apple of her eye. She loved helping watch them and playing with them.  She would later find love again when she married Richard Beam. Woefully, he too would precede her in death.

Carolyn enjoyed time sewing; whether clothes, costumes, blankets, or even toys for her grandkids. She was a throwback who enjoyed old time country music and watching classic old-time movies. Although her circumstances or health did not always cooperate for her going to church, she definitely had an unshakable faith; which was obvious for those around her.

Carolyn will remain in the hearts of her daughter Christina and son-in-law Christopher Lundgaard; grandchildren Ryan, Remy, Rowen; adopted children Layton McFadden, Bridget Bearsaveslife, step children, Richard Beam II, Stephen beam, Josh Beam; siblings Daphne (Wayne) Manley, Dennice Doyle, Daniel (Carol) Bryant, David (Tina) Bryant, Delores (Mark) Wagnon; brother-in-law Harold Willingham; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husbands Billy and Richard; sister Dorothy Willingham; and brother-in-law Dale Doyle, as well as her parents Mary Elizabeth and David L Bryant

Carolyn will be cremated per her wishes and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the funeral home. Cremation and memorial services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Ellsworth; 103 No. Grant Street, Ellsworth 54011.
