Jane E. (Gilbertson) Zappa, age 96 of Hudson, passed away peacefully at home Saturday September 30, 2023 in the care of her family after a brief illness.

Jane was born June 1, 1927, in Hudson to Gehnard and Mayme (Simonson) Gilbertson.

Jane was humble, selfless and took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She loved baking, cooking and keeping her family well fed. She took special pride in her holiday meals with the BIG Italian Christmas dinner and Norwegian desserts as a favorite. She enjoyed playing board games with the grandchildren, watching the Green Bay Packers and her crossword puzzles.

Jane will remain in the hearts of her husband of 69 years Anthony Zappa, children Marc (Kim) Zappa, Gary Zappa,  Maria Moberg and her grandchildren; Alexandra, Nicholas, Kristine, Julia and Sophia Zappa, Nicole and Marcus Moberg.

She is preceded in death by her parents Gehnard and Mayme Gilbertson, special father-in-law Antonio Zappa, her daughter Jana Zappa, brothers Donald and Jack Gilbertson, and sister Yvonne Hill.

A visitation will take place at 10 am Friday October 6, 2023 with the funeral service following at 11 am at the Bethel Lutheran Church, 920 3^rd St., Hudson WI , the burial following at St Patrick Cemetery. Luncheon following funeral service.
