James Michael “Jim” Landry

James “Jim” Landry Obituary September 27, 1952 – January 8, 2024

James Michael Landry, 71, of Somerset, WI passed away on Monday, January 8 after a brave two-year battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born on September 27, 1952 to Helen and Felix Landry in New Richmond, WI. After graduating from Somerset High School in 1970, he pursued many professions, which included: blacktopping, landscaping with his brother Tom, plumbing, operating heavy equipment, and HVAC and refrigeration. Jim continued to farm with his brothers on their family farm while working his everyday job.

In 1977, Jim met the love of his life, Renee Belisle. They married in 1983 and went on to have two lovely daughters, Sophia (1987) and Ciara (1989).

Through his life, Jim spent his time fishing, gardening, farming, and grilling. He enjoyed many adventures with family and friends, lunches with his brothers, preparing family dinners at home with his farm-fresh produce, and special moments being a proud grandpa.

Jim took great pride in caring for his wife and daughters, and he loved every second of being a grandpa to Felix James. His love for family, witty sense of humor, and adventurous spirit will be dearly missed.

Preceded in death by his parents (Helen and Felix Landry), brother-in-law (Roger Hennessey), and beloved Black Labrador (Hutch).

Survived by his wife (Renee), daughters (Sophia and Ciara), son-in-law (Mike Rivard), grandson (Felix James Rivard), siblings (Bob, Tom, and Linda), many nieces and nephews, and one mischievous rescue-cat (Molly Mae).

Visitation to be held at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church on Friday, January 19 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Mass at 11:00 a.m. Celebration of Life to follow at the Somerset American Legion Post 111. Burial will be private at a future date.

Donations made in lieu of flowers will be gifted to a special charitable organization(s), in Jim’s honor.

Husband, father, and grandfather – Jim was our rock. Our hearts are inconsolable, and our lives are now forever changed.
