Curtis Neal Held, 87 years old, passed away on February 17, 2024 at the St. Croix Health Center in New Richmond, Wisconsin. He was born December 9, 1936 in Lake City, Minnesota to Roy W. Held and June McCorkle Held. The family moved to Iowa, where he graduated 8th grade from a one-room country school house. He attended Rake, Iowa High School and graduated from Hansel, Iowa High School. After one year of college, he spent three years in the United States Army serving in Germany during the Cold War.
Following his Army service, he moved to Minnesota and worked for the United States Postal Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Lief, Brother Marvin L. Held, sister-in-law Jennie Lou Held, sister Virginia Taylor and former brother-in-law Arnold Taylor.
He is survived by son Kris Held, daughter Tiffany Held, brothers Garnett (Mary) Held and Byron (Betty) Held, as well as nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and he was buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
