Jean Ann Gilles

Jean Ann Gilles, age 65, passed away May 18th, 2024 in Hammond, WI after a long battle with cancer. She was born to Roy and Mary Eisenmann, and spent her childhood in Madison, Wisconsin. Jean graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a degree in Home Economics.

While raising her two young sons, Jean worked a few part time retail jobs prior to finishing her career with Target corporate in their scheduling department. She married Robert (Bob) Gilles on August 9th, 1980. Sons Mike and Eric came in 1984 and 1987 respectively; the boys certainly gave her a run for her money. (We love you mom!) However, she loved her family dearly, and showed her love to family and friends in many ways; she was an excellent scratch cook, seamstress, and quilter. She was proud of her family, and her family equally proud of her.

In 2014 Jean and husband Bob sold the home they raised their boys in Plymouth, MN and moved to Hudson, WI where they enjoyed their retirement. Jean’s cancer diagnosis from March of 2022 was a long road with many ups and downs, but she found comfort in the same family and friends she held so dearly before which helped her throughout her journey. Jean was heavily involved in many organizations like Women’s PEO International, and Quilter’s Guild, and believed in giving back to her community.

Jean is survived by sons Mike Gilles (Shannon) and Eric Gilles (Stephanie), grandchildren Avery, Hailey, Benjamin, and Matthew, sister Mary Lafrombois (Russ), nephew Nathan Lafrombois (Nicole), and niece Madeline Lafrombois.

Jean is predeceased by her parents Roy and Mary Eisenmann, in-laws Paul and Jane Gilles, brother Mark Eisenmann, and husband Robert (Bob) Gilles. Per Jean’s wishes no funeral or memorial service will be held. The family sincerely extends our gratitude to the staff at St. Croix Hospice and Hammond Health Center for being so kind to her and her family. We love you, Mom!
