On August 5th, 2024, Terry Lynn Hybicki (Burbey) died in her sleep in Hudson, WI after fighting health issues for three months.
Terry Lynn was born July 11th, 1971 at West Allis memorial hospital. She was the second of two girls born to Harley and Carole Burbey. The sisters Tina and Terry were raised in Greendale, WI. While growing up, Terry loved playing outside all day. Whether it was a game of kick the can or schooling the boys playing marbles, Terry loved every minute of it. She was a self confessed Tom-boy and was proud of it. Growing up in Greendale she made some life long friends. Her spirit touched many lives along the way. Her smile would brighten a room and her laugh was infectious. She had a quick wit, sarcastic sense of humor and was a jokester. But was also someone who would instantly make you feel comfortable to be around. So much so, that even complete strangers would tell her the most intimate details of their lives.
Terry worked for Milwaukee Public school district where she made many friends over the years. She cherished her time working there. Brian and Terry met June of 2006 in Milwaukee, WI. Despite Brian transferring to General Motors in Hudson in 2007, they kept up a long distance relationship until he could no longer live without her. He asked her to move to Hudson to be with him. What a lucky guy! So in 2008, Terry took a leap of faith and quit her job and moved to Hudson, WI. In 2009, Brian whisked Terry away to a tropical island. She was proposed to on Valentines Day in Saint Lucia. And, despite her normally having good judgement, Terry and Brian were married 5 days later.
A couple years after marriage in 2011, they welcomed their daughter Natalie into this world. Natalie made their lives complete. Over the years, Natalie grew up to be very much like her mother; a smart, beautiful, silly, goofy, funny, quick witted young woman. Terry was so proud of her and of all her accomplishments.
Later in life, Terry went back to school to get her college degree. She wanted to show Natalie that no matter your age or circumstance, that ones education was very important. Throughout her time in Hudson, Terry worked for the City of West St. Paul, Stillwater school district, City of Woodbury and Progress Rail Services. Along the way she touched many more lives and made many more close friends.
Her light burned bright and was extinguished way too soon.
