Martha Grace Tipping, age 79 of Hudson, WI, passed away on October 4, 2024. Martha was born on October 7, 1944 to parents William and Vivian Hanley. She grew up in the Chicago area and graduated from Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Illinois. Martha went on to work for the social security administration. She was the proud mother of four children and raised her family in Beloit, WI. After retiring, Martha moved to Hudson to be closer to family.
Martha was known for her quick wit, honesty, and friendly nature, always keeping busy with various pursuits. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often immersing herself in the pages of a good book or working diligently on her quilting projects. However, her greatest passion was her family whom she loved beyond measure.
Martha’s compassionate heart extended beyond her family, as she was actively involved in her community, dedicating her time to volunteering at the local hospital. Her selfless acts of kindness touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all those she encountered.
Martha will remain in the hearts of her children Tracy Gavin, Scott (Deborah) Tipping, Robert (Angelina) Tipping, and Kristy (Matthew Purfeerst) Lucksinger; grandchildren Dana (Ryan) Johnson, Joseph (Samantha) Flood, Kathrine (Steven) Ruff, Alison (Evan Breakfield) Tipping, Bradley (Carolyn O’Laughlin) Lucksinger, Brian Lucksinger, Alexis Lucksinger; Lincoln (Kelsey) Purfeerst and Colton (Elizabeth Best) Purfeerst; great grandchildren Tyler, Clayton and Addison Johnson, Raelynn and Riley Flood, McKenna Ruff, and Sutton Purfeerst; sister Carol Moran and many close friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents William and Vivian; siblings Thomas Hanley, Sister M. Lioba and Catherine Obenauf.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.
