Dennis L. Hermansen “Denny”, aged 82, of Hudson, WI, passed away on November 16, 2024. Born on May 1, 1942, to parents Arthur and Mildred Hermansen. Denny graduated from Washburn High School and enlisted in the National Guard. Denny went on to work as a mechanical engineer, first with Lakeside Industries, then with Philips Plastics, and finally with Plastic Products Corporation in Lindstrom, Mn as director of engineering. After his retirement, Denny began working as a parking enforcement officer in Hudson.
Denny married Karen Carson in 1974 and together they enjoyed a life filled with adventure and exploration, finding solace and joy in traversing the vast landscapes of the country in their beloved RV. Among all the stunning locations he visited, Montana held a special place in his heart.
An avid motorcyclist, Dennis could often be spotted cruising on his beloved Harley Davidson or admiring a new car. However, amidst his love for the open road and thrill of the ride, Dennis cherished the quiet moments spent with his family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was a pillar of support and love for those closest to him.
He is survived by his wife Karen; son Doug (Chris) Hermansen; grandson Drew; siblings Al (Mary) Hermansen, Arnie Hermansen, Karen (Eddie) Ortiz, Sandy (Paul) Buchholz, Jean (Tim) Blake , Patricia McDonald, and Deborah (Tommy) Barrios, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Mildred, and his brother Wayne Hermansen.
As we mourn the loss of an extraordinary man, we find solace in knowing that his spirit will live on in the memories we shared. Please join us in celebrating Denny’s life on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service starting at 12:00 p.m..
