Mary Margaret Gregerson, 61, of North Hudson, passed away surround by loved ones on November 24th, 2024. This concluded a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma and trigeminal neuralgia.
Preceded in death by her sister Pamela Campion and her father Wallace Gregerson. Survived by: mother Bernadine (Bernie) Gregerson, siblings Deborah Copeland, Greg Gregerson (Teri), Carl Gregerson, children John Lischewski Jr (Teresia), Samantha Arguelles (Eric), niece Kila Crossley (Luke), grandchildren Gabriella, Hailey, Norah, and Alistair.
Mary was known throughout the community as a kind and generous friend. Always quick with a smile and an absolute joy to be around. She started working at 13 years old for Pat Fletchers Dance Studio. After receiving a Bachelors in Liberal Arts from UW River Falls in 1986, she started working at Turningpoint, a domestic violence shelter. This led to a life long passion of helping those who were in difficult places.
Mary then became a police officer for North Hudson Police Department. However, she soon experienced health problems from trigeminal neuralgia which led her to become a guard for Saint Croix County Jail. This position led her to see the need for inmates to have opportunities to better themselves.
Knowing that the inmates needed more opportunities, she took on the job of Program Director for Saint Croix County Jail. Mary wanted to make sure that all of those who were incarcerated had a multitude of resources available to them for their improvement. She offered classes and coordinated volunteers to work in areas such as drug and alcohol intervention, GED programs, anger management, job training, and religious services. This program was such a success that it is now implemented in multiple counties across the state.
Aside from her career, Mary was active in her church community at Faith Community Church in Hudson. She worked in many programs such as: Faith Works, Alpha, Latte, young adult ministries, and mission trips. She also spent many hours volunteering in the community at places such as the food shelf and The Closet.
No matter how much pain Mary was in, she always found a way to help those around her. She was the living embodiment of strength and love.
