Robert (Rob) Donald Ward, age 56 of Hammond, Wisconsin, passed away on September 12, 2023 at his home in Hammond, WI.
Rob was born on January 10, 1967 to parent’s Donald and Lynn (Catura) Ward in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Rob was united in marriage with the love of his life, Darci (Remmers) on May 2, 1992 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hudson, Wisconsin. Together they raised three children. After graduating high school Rob went on earning a Building Official Limited Degree from Inver Hills Community College and worked as a Building Official with the City of White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
Being outside and enjoying nature was Rob’s favorite thing to do. He was an avid hunter, especially enjoyed bow hunting and he could fish for hours at his favorite lake, Big Sand Lake in Hertel, Wisconsin. You could always find Rob enjoying the great outdoors with his 4-wheeler making new trails with his grandchildren on his acreage or camping with family and friends in Siren, Wisconsin. Rob was an incredible carpenter that did nothing less than perfection on his projects. He was strong-willed and was always all-in for any task he had. Doing something without all his effort was not an option. It would not be a football game if you did not find Rob going ‘all-in’ cheering for his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers. He was such a supportive fan; Rob even placed the Packers ‘G’ in his sidewalk at his home. Rob enjoyed smoking meat for his friends and family to enjoy. One of Rob’s greatest thrills was riding his motorcycle. He and his wife would ride to Maiden Rock, WI as well as Tomahawk, WI for the fall run and ride in many Frost/Defrost Your Nuts runs, which his father took part in starting years ago. Rob loved his family very much and he will be deeply missed.
Rob is survived by his loving wife Darci; children Paige Ward, Shane (Jayla Durand) Ward, Nate (Hunter) Ward; grandchildren Violyt, Lila, Donny, Dallas Ward; siblings Shawn Ward, Kristen (Jevon Jackson) Ward; niece and nephew Jayda, Jevon Jr.; mother Lynn Ward; aunts and uncles Nancy (Gary) Stinnett, Joel (Rosanne) Becker; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Donny Ward; parent-in-laws John and Pat Remmers; grandparents Bob and June Catura.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin, Wisconsin, 1010 Newton Street Baldwin, WI 54002 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2023.

I am saddened to hear of Robs Passing. Darci and family I pray for Gods comfort for all of you in this very difficult time. Rob was a good man and he loved you all immensely.
I worked with Rob in White Bear Lake and he was just a great friend! I loved working with him to plan the best pot lucks, and loved sharing stories about hunting and smoking meats. I know it was a horrible shock to myself and the friends/coworkers, so I cannot imagine how horrifying it is for your family. You are all in my thoughts.
