JoAnn Marie Kaiser, 88, formerly of Hammond, WI, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023 at Comforts of Home in Hudson. JoAnn was born to William and Agnes (Grill) Gunderman on November 11, 1934 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
She attended Bloomer High School. In December, 27, 1951, she married the love of her life, Eugene. The two enjoyed going out dancing on Friday nights and singing at piano bars.
For many years, she was a church organist and would also sing for the church. JoAnn enjoyed volunteering at the nursing home in Hammond and was also a Den Mother for Boy Scouts. In her free time, she loved going to garage sales, camping with her children, shopping and visiting with her grandchildren, and watching old movies. In her younger years, she did ceramics, embroidery and painting. She also loved her red lipstick, homemade bread and pie, and coffee and was a lifelong fan of Elvis.
JoAnn is survived by her children, Julie (Kaiser) Deiss, David Kaiser, Vicki (John) Cernohous, and Cindy (Michael) Heller; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene Kaiser; daughter, Tammy Kincaid; infant son, Jeffrey Kaiser; parents, William and Agnes (Grill) Gunderman; and grandchild, Cory Hetrick.
A Mass of Christian Burial for JoAnn will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1265 Ridgeway Street, Hammond, WI. Visitation will begin at 10am with Mass to follow at 11am. Burial will be at Saint Mary’s Church Cemetery, Hammond.
Funeral services are entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
