Ethan Paul Bronner, age 18, passed away suddenly on the morning of Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Ethan was born August 9, 2002 in Marietta, Georgia the son of Ron Bronner and Heidi Taavola. He was a recent graduate of Hudson High School and had been looking into attending Michigan Technical University.

Ethan was a kind, thoughtful, and hardworking young man. He enjoyed participating in school sports and spent many years in baseball. He had a strong passion for cars with an intuition to figure out any problem a car could have. Ethan purchased and maintained many different cars he loved to fix up and drive around with his friends. His tremendous work ethic was shown in every portion of his life, especially in his later years of high school as he worked full time.

Ethan loved traveling to the upper peninsula of Michigan where he could spend time vacationing with extended family. Ethan had a large impact on his family as he grew up alongside his older sister, Madeleine. The two siblings spent their early years glued to each other as they were each other’s sidekick. He worked alongside his Grandpa Lars on various home projects and would bake Christmas cookies with his Grandma Dolores. His uncle Lars and cousin Marcus would love to spend time together going to baseball games, football games, and the Mall of America.

Ethan will remain in the hearts of his parents Ron and Heidi; sister Madeleine; Grandpa and grandma Lars and Dolores Taavola, Opa Ron and Kathy Bronner, Uncle and aunt Lars and Fay, and cousin Marcus. He is preceded in death by his Oma Trudy Bronner.

A celebration of Life for Ethan will be held on Wednesday, July 28th at Bethel Lutheran Church, Highlands Campus, 504 Frontage Road in Hudson at 11 A.M. This service will be live-streamed HERE. A visitation will take place Tuesday, July 27th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson from 4-6 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church. Please note: if you just submitted a tribute, it is pending approval.
    • I am so very sorry for everyone’s heartbreaking loss. I only knew Ethan briefly as I hired him at SMX this last spring. He was so excited to graduate, even remember giving him a fist bump and congratulating when he did. He was such a nice kid, and a very hard worker. RIP Ethan.

    • Ron,
I happened to stumble upon this obituary and my heart broke when I recognized the last name. I am so incredibly sorry for this loss. Please know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers and may our Heavenly Father lift you and your family up during this time of grief, and in all the days to come as you adjust to your life here on earth without your beautiful son. This is something no parent should ever have to experience, and I am so sorry that this happened to you.

    • R.I.P. We didn’t have opportunities to meet that group of the family growing up, which is unusual for moms extended side. There has been so much loss there already, and this is tragic. My heart goes out to those who knew Ethan, and I’m sorry for your loss. I feel a sense of empathy and urgency to be kind to everyone who is family, well known or not. It’s interesting to learn about my aunt and uncle’s grandson, sadly too late.

      Love, Athena

    • I do not know the family personally, however when a young person passes too soon in a small community like Hudson, we are all affected. My heart aches for your family and I will pray for peace for all who knew Ethan. God Bless.

    • My heart aches for all of you. Ethan was an integral part of your funny, spirited and amazing family, and he will live on in all of you. Born of stardust, and returned to it now, he is all around you, all the time. Love to everyone in your family!

    • What a great tribute to your son! So sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

    • I will remember Ethan as that sweet 6th/7th grade boy from our Wednesday night church group. So very sorry for your loss. May happy memories comfort you.
