Thomas Mark Harrington, age 61, resident of Hudson, WI, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 16, 2021.

Thomas was born September 30, 1960 in New Richmond, WI to parents Eugene and Joan (Liepold) Harrington. He grew up alongside 8 siblings and graduated from New Richmond High School in 1979. He loved music and played the trumpet throughout his school years, with his marching band given the honor of playing for president Jimmy Carter in Washington, DC. He sang in various choirs and also performed the lead role in his school production of Bye Bye Birdie.

Thomas worked at Andersen Windows for 37 years within different roles, his last being a CAD drawer, a role he truly enjoyed and worked hard to achieve. He is remembered by his coworkers for his patience, kindness, and sense of humor. He loved to take part in his children’s activities; he was a Boy Scouts leader for troop 168 and took pride in being part of his son’s journey from a Cub Scout to an Eagle Scout. He also coached both his son and daughters’ baseball/softball teams.

Thomas enjoyed golf with his son, scenic road trips, grilling, watching movies, boating on the St. Croix, woodworking, game nights with his family, playing with his grandchildren, and watching the Green Bay Packers. Above all else, Thomas regarded his children as his greatest blessing and the light of his life.

Thomas will remain in the hearts of his wife, Diane Harrington; children, Jessica (Jason Zimpel) Harrington, Jennifer (Cody) Ring, and Joel Harrington; grandchildren, Ethan Zimpel, Emma Zimpel, and Mason Ring; siblings, David, Becky Gehr, Charlene Meath, John, Stephen, Vincent, Lucy Harrington, and Timothy; many nieces, nephews, other family, coworkers, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Joan Harrington.

A gathering of friends and family will take place Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 2:00- 4:00 p.m. at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. Following the public visitation, there will be a private family service at 5:00 pm.  The service will be livestreamed, to view click on the zoom link.

Thomas's Tribute Wall

Tributes (2):

Please note: if you just submitted a tribute, it is pending approval.
    • Tom was a great guy. It’s too bad he’s gone. He was such a great father to Joel, Jennifer and Jessica so I didn’t know Tom very well I only met him once at his kids’ grad parties but he seemed very nice.

    • Dear Family,

And so the number of saints above is increased by one, leaving behind an empty space that will never be filled except through the gift of memory. We celebrate with you your beloved husband and father’s life and the many lives Tom touched.

May you miss him deeply, forgive him often, and always claim the best of him in you. Our sympathies, thoughts, and prayers remain with you in your grief even as you reflect on the promises of God to provide a reunion in heaven.

We are so sorry that we were in Canada when Tom was called Home and were not present for the funeral. We remember Tom with much fondness and the children. Our love to Diane and all of you.

      Warm and cordial personal greetings,

      Liz and Dan Bruch
