Barbara Barron, age 89, of Hudson, WI, formerly of Mesa, AZ, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 5, 2013 at Comforts of Home in Hudson.
Barbara was born on August 4, 1924 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Vasil and Julia (Milchek) Stripsky. She attended school in McKeesport and graduated from McKeesport High School in 1941. Barbara worked at U.S. Steel-Christy Parks Works until the birth of her first child in 1950.
Barbara was a great mom and wife. She loved to cook, bake, sing, and take care of her family. She was an avid sports fan, especially a Pittsburgh fan – a Steelers fan always! She believed in and collected angels, as she truly was one of God’s special angels here on Earth.
She is survived by her children: Wayne (Diane) Barron of Hammond, WI, Gwen (David) Lopez of Keller, TX, and Debora (Max Guldan) Barron of Hudson, WI; grandchildren: Nathan (Julie Madden-Barron) Barron of Franklin, MA, Robert (Katie) Lopez of Fresno, CA, and Stacey Lopez of Keller, TX; great-grandchildren: Lily Barron of Franklin, MA, and Maddison Grace, Audrina Joy, and Zachary Cooper Lopez of Fresno, CA; very special niece and God daughter, Michele Grygo of White Oak, PA; nephew, Bruce Korac of Brownsville, PA; great-nephew, Chad Grygo of White Oak, PA; along with many other nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ted; parents, Vasil and Julia; sister, Katherine; and the rest of her siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, September 9, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment will follow the Mass at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Severson, Dr. I, and all the other staff at Hudson Hospital who had a helping hand in caring for and comforting Mom in recent months. Also, a very special “Thank You” to the staff at Comforts of Home, where she has lived for almost two years. You all have embraced Mom, cared for her, and most importantly, loved her. We are so very grateful for all of you special angels, especially head angel, Tanya. Lastly, the family would like to thank Adoray Hospice for their special care given to Mom for the past two months. Thank You and God’s Blessings to you all.
