Dan Eugene Kay, age 75, entered into eternal rest on October 31, 2019 at home in Wisconsin. Dan was born on March 24th, 1944 in River Falls, to Eugene and Kathryn Kay. He attended St. Bridget Catholic School and graduated with the class of 1962 from River Falls High School. Dan was a “main stay” in the River Falls high school football and basketball teams.

Dan spent time working at Amour Meat Packaging in South St. Paul.  He then attended Vocational school for HVAC. After completing his training, he went to work for Major Appliance doing small appliance repairs. In 1980 he started his own business: 4 Seasons Heating & Air Conditioning.  Dan then went to Sears as a Service Technician and retired in 2003.

Aside from working, he enjoyed spending time with his wife at their cabin in Northern WI, where they enjoyed fishing, golfing, and boating. Dan was a devoted Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan. Overall, he was an avid sports nut!

In 2004, Dan and his wife moved south to Weslaco, TX where they found their place to Winter, and later became Texas residents.

Dan will remain in the hearts of his wife, Marilyn (Johnson) Kay; children, Greg (Karen) Kay and Kim Kay; grandchildren, Kyle and Danielle Holden, Brittany, Derek, and Kristin Kay; siblings, Sue (Joe) Brown, Richard Kay, Kathy (Les) Kay, Phil (Karen) Prowse, Joe (Dawn) Kay, and Ruth (Jeff) Kay. He is preceded in Death by his parents, Eugene and Kathryn (Allen) Kay; and brothers, Lesile “Les” Kay and Jeff Kay.

A mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 211 East Division Street, River Falls, WI, at 11:00am, with a visitation starting an hour prior to service time. Danny til we meet again goodbye my presious friend. Peace and Love ❤️ Dave and Barb Myers.

    • I am so sorry to hear about Danny’s passing. We lived a half a block away from each other as kids. Danny was a year older than me and his sister Susie was a year younger. Danny, Susie, Richie, & “Baby Les” played together and hung out almost every day with my sister and I and other neighborhood kids, and had great times as teenagers, too. Our families knew each other for decades and my uncle Howie actually married Danny’s aunt Doris Uren way back when. My sympathy, kind thoughts, and prayers go out to Danny’s family and all those who loved him.

    • We knew Danny and Marilyn over the years of being Winter Texans. We were invited to happy gatherings at their place. Dan and Marilyn always made you feel very welcome. We watched a few Packer games too. Our sympathy and love to Marilyn and family.

    • Took said not long ago that he saw Dan at the casino where he works. The Kay family lived up the street from us in North Hudson. So many memories and they go back to attending school with his sister Susie – just saw her at our class reunion. Blessings to the entire family and peace through this troubling time.

    • The Filkins and Kay families have been friends for many years. Our sincere sympathy to Marilyn and her children and grand children.

    • Marilyn, Greg, Kim and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Danny was a great man. Treasure the memories. ❤️❤️

    • My condolences go out to you, my North Hudson neighbors. Danny was a fun loving man!

    • Dan and I were best friends for a couple years in grade school and were on high school football and basketball teams together. We worked together at his aunt’s farm where we once had to swim across a flooded creek to get to a car to get back to town. When my father died when I was 12, Dan and his father Gene took me to the County fair in Hudson the evening before the funeral and after the wake. They, of course, had lost their wife and mother no long before. I remember fondly watching basketball at his house on the TV gene had mounted through the wall from the living room into his bedroom. Dan was a great friend – loyal and kind and lots of fun. I was glad to get to talk to him at our 50th reunion.
