Private family services were held.

Daniel “Dan” Langdon, age 72 of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2018 at the Hudson Hospital in Hudson, WI. Dan was born on April 22, 1946 in New York, NY, to Albert and Helen (White) Langdon. He graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, NY, and attended Long Island University where he studied Philosophy and Communications. Dan worked as a Public Relations Executive for several non-profit organizations including The Partnership for a Drug-Free America, the Ad Council, and the Phoenix House Foundation. Dan was united in marriage to Joan (McEvoy) Murphy on November 12, 1983, on Long Island, NY. The couple and Joan’s son, Bryan Murphy, became a family and lived in New York City for many years. In 1999 Bryan moved to Scottsdale Arizona; after a brief visit with Bryan, Dan and Joan fell in love with the beauty of the Southwest and moved to Scottsdale the following year. Dan’s love of beautiful clothing led him to start a second career as a sales associate and Made-to-Measure Specialist for Brooks Brothers, fitting many local politicians, lawyers and others into custom suits.

Dan loved his family, and was extremely supportive and proud of them. His wife, Joan, is an artist and he was always at her side at shows and award ceremonies. He was an avid reader of mystery novels and anything dealing with history, especially political history. He had an extensive collection of books on History, Men’s Fashion, Dogs, and Cooking. As an amateur photographer, he enjoyed taking pictures of anything that caught his creative eye. Many of his photographs hang in the Scottsdale home he and Joan shared with the rescued dogs they cared for and loved.

Dan is survived by his wife of 34 years, Joan, and step-son, Bryan Murphy. He also leaves behind many happy clients who subsequently became good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private family services were held on September 7th.
