Doris M. DeYoung, age 90 of Baldwin, died peacefully Sunday, November 10th, 2013, at the Baldwin Care Center. Doris was born on January 23, 1923, in Willmar, Minnesota; the daughter of Christian and Johanna (Basbale) Jensen. She was raised in Baldwin where she attended school. On November 26, 1943, she was united in marriage to Elmer DeYoung. This union would be further blessed by children Kathy, David, Shirley, and Lori. Doris cherished her family and time spent as a homemaker. She loved gardening and canning her goodies. She also enjoyed crocheting and being active with Gethsemane’s Ladies Guild.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband Elmer who died in 1980, granddaughter Karen DeYoung, sisters Marion Amundson and Anna (Stanley) Clemmens. She is survived by her children Kathy (Chris) Bracher, David (Margaret) DeYoung, Shirley (Gordy Griser) DiMassi, and Lori DeYoung; grandchildren Kerri (Paul) Lesch, Chad (Jason) Bracher, Amy (Mike) Rieschl, and Matthew (Catherine) Chenoweth; great grandchildren Paul, Megan, Sarah, Emily, Anna, Owen, Eli, Brianna, and Benjamin, as well as her brother Erving Jensen.

Memorial service for Doris DeYoung will be 11AM Saturday, November 16th at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Baldwin, Wisconsin with Pastor Carrie Anderson. Organist Faye Bergin will accompany the singing of Dr. Dennis Soderberg. Interment will be in the Baldwin Cemetery with her grandchildren serving as urnbearers. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Gethsemane on Saturday morning. Memorials are preferred. Funeral services entrusted to O’Connell Family Funeral Homes and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin.
