Kenny Lars Bjerkeng, age 22 of Hudson, died in a car accident on Sunday, Oct. 5, in rural Hudson. Kenny was born on August 20, 1992 in St. Paul, Minnesota; the son of John and Kelly (Mulvihill) Bjerkeng. He was raised in Hudson where he attended EP Rock Elementary School and graduated from Hudson High School in the class of 2011. Kenny has worked the past few years for Andersen Windows in Bayport, MN.
Kenny looked at the world with a smile. His smile was contagious and he always had a kind word to share with everyone. He embraced the opportunity to make his family and friends laugh with his humorous stories, silly faces, and funny anecdotes.
From day one, Kenny hung with the older kids. He was tough and a quick learner, he had to be to keep up with his brother Cory and the neighbor kids. He was a compassionate man who loved animals, especially dogs and reptiles; everyone knew him as the snake wrangler. A natural athlete, Kenny enjoyed biking, playing baseball and football, golfing, bass fishing, water sports and disc golf. Kenny loved snowboarding with his brother Cory and his friends. He was always in search of the perfect jump or rail whether it was at Afton Alps, Spirit Mountain or right in his own driveway. When Kenny wasn’t hanging out with his friends, he was with his family including his dogs, Bernie and Dickie.
For those who knew Kenny, they knew he loved cars and would spend a great amount of time with his friend Dylan. They enjoyed hanging out at Midwest Motorworks in Hudson working on their favorite cars, Volkswagons. Kenny was so proud of his 1990 Volkswagon Corrado.
Over the years Kenny had many adventures and travels that he shared with his family and friends. Whether it was vacationing in places like Florida and Montana, fishing on nearby lakes & rivers, visiting his friends in college, or attending Cars and Coffee with friends, Kenny lived each moment to the fullest. Kenny was a great friend, son, brother, grandson, uncle, and cousin and will be missed by so many people.
Kenny will forever remain in the hearts of his parents John and Kelly of Hudson; brother Cory of Hudson, sister Stacy (Kevin) Ohrt-Billingslea of Montana; niece Phoebe, nephew Heathe; Grandparents Bill & Mary Mulvihill of Farmington, MN, Lorraine Mulvihill of Champlain, MN; aunts & uncles RoAnn Wann of St. Paul, Marcia (Mike) Groetsch of Lake Elmo, MN, Doug (Shelly) Mulvihill of Big Lake, MN, Duane (Julie) Mulvihill of Lino Lakes, MN, Denny Chaffee of Hudson, WI, Jeanne Tobin of Houston, TX; cousins Jim, Pat, Ryan, MacKenzie, Sam, Tori, Ashley, Parker, Sean and Lindsey, and countless friends.
