MaryAnn “Molly” Bond age 87 of Hammond died Friday March 21st, 2014 at the Parkview Community Campus in Woodville. MaryAnn was born September 11, 1926 in Hammond; the daughter of Louis and Mary (Madl) Frank Sr. She attended school in Hammond graduating from high school in 1944. On June 30, 1945, she was united in marriage to Elmo Bond. Elmo worked for the highway department for many years; as MaryAnn was a proud stay at home mom raising their children.
She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and baking her notorious angel food cakes. She was active member of the Hammond Congregational Church and always took pleasure in helping with their annual meatball dinners.
MaryAnn is survived by her children; Bruce Bond, Glen (Bonnie) Bond, Lola (Gene) Visger, Sally (Dan) Doornink, John (Jane) Bond; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years Elmo; infant son; three granddaughters Laurie, Holly, Kristina; grandson Trevor; daughter-in-law ShirleyAnn Bond; brother Louis “Luffer” Frank, and a stillborn sibling.
Funeral service for MaryAnn Bond will be 11AM Saturday March 29 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hammond. Burial will be in the Hammond Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday March 28 from 4PM to 8PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin and one hour prior to the services on Saturday morning. Memorials are preferred.
