Douglas Paul Coffin, age 64 of Ellsworth WI, died on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at United Hospital in St. Paul. Doug was born September 19, 1955 in Minneapolis MN to parents Wally and Peggy (Reineccius) Coffin. Doug attended school in Cambridge, and graduated from Cambridge High School with the Class of 1973. On May 25, 1974, Doug would be united in marriage to Cindy Dopp. Their union in marriage would be blessed with two children, three grandchildren, and over 45 years of love and devotion.
Doug worked for many years as a skilled machinist. Outside of work, he could be found tinkering on things in his garage, and attending flea markets and threshing shows. Throughout the years, Doug collected antique toys and Cushman scooters, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and canoeing, as well as radio-controlled cars and airplanes. Though Doug was a man of few words, he was a kind soul with a good sense of humor. Family and friends were paramount to Doug. He treasured time spent with his grandkids, and was the kind of guy who loved to fix breakfast for everyone. Doug will be missed in those moments by the people he loved.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cindy; his son, Luke Coffin (Hollye Gainey and her children Kayla and Felix); his daughter, Meggan Coffin (Bob Davis); his grandchildren, Nadia, Kylie, and Kingsley; his siblings, Mike (Cindy) Coffin, Alan (Janet) Coffin, Wendy Coffin, Pam(Ken) Flaten, and James Coffin; his in-laws, Dawn Fritz, Wes (Lois) Dopp, Kevin (Kathy) Dopp, Kassie Lodin, Steve (Pam) Dopp, Rick Dopp, Jody Dopp, Tedda (Jon) George, and Bill Dopp; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother, Kenneth.
