Norma Lorraine Johnson, of Hudson, WI, passed to heaven on March 9, 2016 at Christian Community Home in Hudson.
Norma was born March 25, 1923, in Louisburg, Minnesota, lived on a farm outside Appleton, Minnesota, and graduated from Appleton high school in 1941. She did secretarial work and sales at Young Quinlan in Minneapolis during WWII and on September 29, 1943 she married LaVern Johnson. She was a teacher assistant at Hopkins High School and North St.Paul High School, Minnesota, and Largo Junior High School, Florida.
Preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Marie (Hegland) Pederson; husband LaVern; brother, Charles Pederson; and sister Gladyce (”Pepper”” ) Nypan.
Survived by three children: Lynda, Andrea, and Douglas; siblings: Oscar, Norman, David, Marion, and Elizabeth; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Norma will be remembered for her love of entertaining family and friends, boating and fishing Lake Vermilion, the St. Croix River, and Lake of the Woods, visiting family in Florida, her love of travel, her skill as a clay potter and sculptor, her devotion to her husband, her faith in God, and her unwavering love for her family.
Memorial service will be held April 2, 2016 at O’Connell Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. Visitation begins at 11:00am, service at 12:00pm, followed by interment at Willow River Cemetery.
