Mary Ellen Vizenor, age 51, of Hudson WI, passed away on January 21, 2024 at her home with family by her side, after a long battle with cancer. Mary was born on April 19, 1972 to parents Roger and Mary (Hruza) Huerta. She grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from Johnson High School before attending Winona State University and St. Paul Technical College where she earned her degree in nursing.

She worked as a nurse for many years at Westfields Hospital and Clinic but most recently was working at Hudson Physicians. Mary was always well like by others and her generosity and selflessness had no end. She was her happiest when she was with her family or by the ocean. She loved the warm weather and enjoyed traveling to Florida and Hawaii with her husband, Bob. Mary also loved to garden and enjoyed being outside tending to her flower beds.

She will be missed greatly by her husband Bob; children Abbie, Tyler, and Camden; granddaughter Stevie; parents Roger and Mary Huerta; brothers Roger (Tami) Huerta, Bob (Wendy) Huerta, and Ryan (Katy) Huerta; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents George and Marlene Hruza; paternal grandparents Ricardo Huerta and Dorothy Nelsen; Uncles Gary, Jeff, Bob (Gail) and Aunt Bev.

A celebration of life for Mary will be held on January 27, 2024 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 12:30 p.m. Memorials are preferred to the family.
