Michael Herman Maier, age 68 of Ellsworth, WI, passed away on September 3, 2024 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN due to a spinal cord injury as a result from a fall. Mike was born on September 16, 1955 to Gervase and Vera (Huppert) Maier. He attended Prescott High School and graduated with the class of 1973. Michael married Lisa Armbruster in 1983, from this union they were blessed with a daughter, Megan.

Mike’s unwavering dedication to his family and warm, generous spirit marked his life. He deeply loved farming and excavating, finding joy and fulfillment in working the land and nurturing his crops. Those who knew him will never forget that he was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan, enthusiastically cheering on his favorite team. When he wasn’t watching sports, he was enjoying timeless westerns.

A dedicated 35-year employee at Pierce-Pepin Electric, Mike was committed to serving his community with integrity and care. His contributions to the community were numerous, and Mike was respected and admired by all who knew him.

His legacy will live on through the cherished memories his loved ones share. Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His kindness, wisdom, and gentle nature touched the lives of many, and his memory will forever remain in our hearts.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Lisa Maier; his daughter, Megan Maier; his siblings, Barbara (Tim) O’Malley, Robert (Joanne) Maier, Brenda Lunsman, Paula, (Walt) Weisbeck, and Charles (Janell) Maier, along with countless nieces, nephews, and their families. His parents preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00pm on Monday, September 16, 2024 at St Francis Catholic Church: 231 W Woodworth St, Ellsworth, WI 54011, officiated by Fr. David Olson. A visitation will start at 10:00am until the start of Mass. Interment will be at St Francis Cemetery following the service.

In liu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in memory of Mike to a Catholic Charity of your choice.

  1. Mike, Lisa and Megan were our South Maple Street neighbors when we lived in Ellsworth. Mike was always working on something and was the kindest man to all. He will be missed by so many. Sending love to Lisa and Megan.
