Nancy Darlene Foreman, age 79, of Mound, Minnesota, and formerly of Prescott Wisconsin, passed away on January 13, 2025, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina Minnesota following a brief illness. Nancy was born on November 28, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Winat and Virginia Lee (Barnes) Perdun. She was raised in St Louis Missouri and graduated from Ritenour High School. On February 14, 1966, she married Melvin D. Foreman in St. Louis. They raised two children, Jay and Heidi.

As a young mother, Nancy worked hard to support her family, bartending at the Minneapolis International Airport terminal. She later tapped into her entrepreneurial spirit by owning and operating the Dairy King in Prescott for several years, where she cherished serving the community and getting to know her customers. When her children grew older, she worked as a waitress at fine restaurants in Bloomington, where her warmth and charm left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Nancy had a natural ear and passion for music, a gift she inherited from her father who played the piano by ear. She took piano lessons and became an accomplished player, often filling her home with music as her children grew up. In addition to her musical talents, Nancy had an eye for design and partnered with her friend Ann Lubich to offer interior design services for homes and businesses. She also enjoyed gardening, especially growing her favorite zinnias, and discovering great restaurants to try.

Nancy’s faith deepened over the years, and she used life’s trials and tribulations to grow and reflect. She wanted everyone to come to know the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, as expressed in Romans 10:9: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Nancy is survived by her children, Jay Eugene (Tricia) Foreman of Prescott and Heidi Lee Octavia Carlson of Excelsior, MN; her grandchildren, Nicholas Charles (Jessica) Foreman, Patrick Michael (fiancée Annie Keene) Foreman, Ahna Octavia Carlson, and Catherine Grace Carlson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Melvin, in 2004.

A funeral service for Nancy D. Foreman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, at the Prescott United Church of Christ, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Prescott. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Prescott.
