Robert “Bob” Paul Peterson

Robert “Bob” Paul Peterson, a beloved son, father, and friend, passed away on February 8, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on September 21, 1946, in River Falls, WI. Bob was married to the love of his life, Cheryl, for 48 wonderful years before her passing in 2016. He was a man whose life was filled with love, adventure, and an unwavering dedication to those around him.

Bob was a proud veteran of the National Guard. His career in International Sales with Waterous Company took him across the globe, allowing him to experience the beauty of over 120 countries, with Australia holding a special place in his heart.

Bob had a vibrant spirit. He loved cars and in his younger days, working on cars brought him joy; he reveled in restoring and selling cars. In his final years, he loved taking local drives to see what was going on in town and sharing laughter over morning breakfasts with his friends at Denny’s. Over the years, Bob spent many joyful hours golfing with his kids and taking family vacations. Bob was a treasure trove of knowledge, always eager to share his insights. When mobility became more of a challenge, he enjoyed the latest episode of Ancient Aliens or tackling a challenging crossword puzzle.

His sense of humor was a gift, marked by a dry wit that could lighten any moment and a wisdom that always steered others in the right direction. He was dependable and steady, a rock for his family and friends, embodying the kind of reliability that is often sorely missed in this world.

Bob will be fondly remembered for his deep love for his family. He took immense pride in his family and took the responsibility to care for his parents during their retirement, demonstrating a level of devotion that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

As we reflect on Bob’s life, we remember a man who lived fully, cared deeply, and brought laughter to all he encountered. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to know him. Bob would frequently say that you only get one time on this orb, so you better make it count. Let us honor his memory by cherishing our loved ones and embracing the adventures life has to offer.

Bob is survived by his children Robert (Sandi) Peterson and Carrie (William) Sikorski.

He was preceded in death by his wife Cheryl Peterson; son Bradley Peterson, parents Harold and Marie Peterson; brother John Peterson; mother-in-law Gracie Quinn; and grandmother-in-law Mary Wegscheider.

For those who knew Bob, you won’t be surprised that he didn’t want anyone fussing over him, so a private family service will take place according to his wishes.

Funeral services entrusted to O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
