Edward Kenneth Waters, age 77, of Glenwood City, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025. Born on April 9, 1947, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Edward was the son of Walter and Olga Waters. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that shaped him into the devoted man he became.
Following his military service in the Navy, Edward worked for Lee’s Electric in Glenwood City where he learned the electrical trade which fueled his ambition to learn the “do-it-yourself” attitude. After this experience, he started a career at Andersen Windows, where he dedicated over 30 years of his life. He fostered a passion for craftsmanship, taking great pride in his projects and handiwork.
After returning from the Navy, Edward married Darlene Keeley April 19, 1975. It was March of 2018 when Edward was in need of a kidney transplant, that Darlene would be the donor.
Edward cherished the time spent outdoors, especially camping and taking family trips when his children were young. As he got older his time spent on his porch soaking in the sun or time in his flower beds were enjoyable. He created lasting memories through hunting and fishing trips with his son, and later with the grandkids. His grandchildren where the center of his world, he enjoyed attending numerous events for his grandchild. His love for nature was matched only by his strong faith and the joy he found in life’s sweet treats.
Edward is survived by his children, Greg (Nicki) Waters and Cindy (James) Drury; grandchildren, Morgan, Brady, and Jenna; brothers Walter “Wally” Waters Jr. of Amery, and Lawrence “Larry” (Mary) Waters of River Falls; Navy brothers Tom (Mary) Urban of Pennsylvania and Charlie (Mary Jane) Perthes of Michigan
He is preceded in death by his wife Darlene and his parents Walter and Olga Waters.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Glenhaven Nursing home for becoming Edwards second family and for the great care they gave him.
