Janet Ann Lindholm, age 75 of Hudson WI, formerly of Hayward, passed away February 14, 2016 at her home.
Janet was born on April 21, 1940 in Hayward; the daughter of George and Emma (Gurlich) Nielsen. She graduated from Hayward High School and attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Golden Valley, MN. On June 26, 1968, Janet was joined in marriage to Lou Lindholm at the First Lutheran Church in Hayward. Besides raising their four children, Janet also worked as a waitress for many years.
Janet was truly selfless and compassionate. She enjoyed volunteering and teaching both Sunday School and Confirmation classes at the First Lutheran Church, where she was a member and previously served on the Church Council. Janet loved spending time with her family, and after Lou’s death in 2011, she moved to Hudson, WI to be closer to them. Janet found relaxation in knitting and crocheting; often making afghans and other items for her family or as donations to those in need.
Janet will remain in the heart of her son, Robert of Hudson; daughters, Sandra (Karl) Solie of Houlton, Ann Lindholm of Burnsville MN, and Karen (Zack) Pederson of Burnsville MN; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Turnbull of Hayward, and Marlene Aanerud of Osseo MN; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lou; her parents; two brothers, and two sisters.
Private services will be held at a later time.
