Julie Ann Erickson, age 57 of Somerset, passed away at her home June 22, 2017. Julie was born August 1, 1959, in Stillwater, MN, the daughter of Donald and Delores (Wimmer) Asfeld. Julie graduated high school in Clarissa, MN, class of 1977. She met her best friend and love of her life, Scott, while working together at T&Y Service and car wash.
Scott and Julie were married on September 9, 1978, in Bloomington, MN. They soon became blessed with their three sons, Josh, Nicholas and Cody. Scott and Julie became well-known throughout the area after purchasing the Bass Lake Cheese Factory in 1991. In 1998 Scott and Julie travelled to Macedonia in order to help teach both the marketing and methods of cheese-making. Julie took great pride in being the best wife and mother she could be; her interest in gardening, cooking, fishing, camping, travel, motor biking and deer hunting gave her the opportunity to be among her family and friends as much as possible.
Julie’s ambition and intuition carried her down many different roads. She became well-versed in many things throughout life; from keeping financial records to working outdoors, Julie was interested in a wide-variety of ventures. Julie dedicated her life to her close friends and family. Her strong will and assertive attitude gave her the courage to push through life’s many hardships and obstacles. She will be remembered as an outstanding woman who never stopped helping others and never gave up on those she cared for.
Julie is survived by her loving husband, Scott; sons, Josh (Stephanie Simons) Erickson, Nicholas Erickson (Andrea Clark), and Cody (Amber) Erickson; grandchildren, Elijah ‘Eli’ and Wyatt; siblings, Duane (Jonell) Asfeld, Paul (Janet) Asfeld, Brian Asfeld, and Pam (Brian) Sandberg; parents-in-law, Delano and Susan (Hoover) Erickson; as well as numerous extended family members and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Delores (Wimmer) Asfeld; brother, Alan ‘Al’ Asfeld; and brother-in-law, Derrick ‘Rick’ Erickson.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, followed by an 8:00 p.m. Memorial Service at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson.
