Sandra Bauguess

Sandra Sue Bauguess, age 78 of Hudson, passed away October 31, 2019 at Comforts of Home Senior Living in Hudson. Sandra was born April 23, 1941 in Hudson, to Harry “Bill” and Susan (Mallory) Erb. She grew up in Hudson, and was one of the first children in St. Croix County to contract polio. Sandra spent seven months at Sister Kenny Rehabilitation institute in Minneapolis and a short time in an iron lung to assist her breathing and to help treat her symptoms associated with the polio virus. Though the disease continually affected her leg, Sandra kept active with acrobatics and baton twirling, and enjoyed participating in musicals and plays. She was liked by all who knew her, and she had the spirit to not let her “gimpy leg” hold her back. Sandra graduated from Hudson High School in 1959, and was united in marriage to Clyde “Bud” Bauguess in September of 1960. The couple were blessed with a daughter, Tammy, and the family made their home in Fort Worth, TX, before relocating to South Gate, CA. Sandra took some classes in the early day of computers and worked as a keypunch operator with the Daughters of Charity Health Care around Los Angelas. She would later work her way up the ranks of Boeing and supervised the installation of their early computer systems. Sandra had the ability to see the good side of any situation, and had a deep faith in God and devotion to prayer.

Sandra will remain in the hearts of her sister, Vonnie St. Peter; brother, Harry “Bill” (Mary Ann) Erb; honorary sisters, Gretchen Link, Bonnie Richert, and Mary Eikens; 12 nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde “Bud”; daughter, Tammy; siblings, Peggy Vall, Shirley Sherley; James Erb; and a nephew.

Memorial Service will take place 12:00 p.m., noon, on Wednesday, November 6th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson. A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 11:30 AM until the time of service.
