Vivian Verona Kassera, age 86, of River Falls, WI passed away Thursday, February 1, 2019 at Comforts of Home in River Falls. She was born on June 7, 1932 in New Richmond, WI to Frank and Madelen (Logghe) Dardine.
Vivian graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1949 and from the Eau Claire State College in 1953. She taught physical education in Abbotsford and Dorchester, WI. The family moved to River Falls in 1968. She spent the next 28 years at Greenwood Elementary School as a paraprofessional in the kindergarten and first grades and also a playground monitor. In addition to working at the grade school, she also worked part time at the Falls Hallmark Shop in River Falls for 32 years.
Vivian most of all enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also was an avid walker. She was a huge sports fan and loved watching all kinds of sports. She had been a member of Luther Memorial Church since 1968. Viv was a breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed her mid-week in-service meetings with the staff at Greenwood. She also loved going to Florida in the winters and to Chetek in the summers to visit with friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Madelen Dardine; brother, Frankie; sisters, Grace and Donna; daughter-in-law, Carrie.
Vivian is survived by her sons, Jeff, Jay and Jim (Marca); grandchildren, Mitch (Sarah) and Kelly; great-grandchildren, J.J. and Claire; sister, Marie.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, February 7th at Luther Memorial Church, 420 South 4th Street, River Falls. Private interment at Greenwood Cemetery, at a later date.
