Wayne Vernon, age 81, passed away on December 27, 2022. He was born July 31, 1941 in Edgeley, South Dakota to Ronald and Mamie Vernon. In July of 1982 Wayne married Carol (Johnson) and gained three stepdaughters: Debbie, April and Melanie.
After graduation from high school Wayne enrolled in college at University of St. Cloud. He attended college for a short time before enlisting in the Navy. Following his honorable discharge he met Carol Johnson and decided she was the one. In 1982 Wayne and Carol took a trip to Reno, Nevada and got married. After Their marriage Wayne began work as a financial aid advisor at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He enjoyed his career and really loved the many years he spent with the U. Wayne had a meticulous, tidy and like-able personality and he got along with everyone he came across. He was genuinely liked and genuinely liked other people as well. His “go with the flow” attitude made him easy to be around and pleasant to talk with. When he wasn’t with his family Wayne enjoyed watching or playing golf, it was a long time passion for him.
Wayne will remain in the hearts of his Wife of 40 years: Carol; Stepdaughters: Debbie (Martin) Berg, April (Dan) Goodwin; Grandchildren: Mike and Aaron Goodwin, Brian and David Berg.
Wayne is Preceded in death by his parents: Ronald and Mamie: stepdaughter: Melanie Lastra and Brother: Larry Vernon
Private burial for Wayne will be held summer of 2023.
