Edna Magsam

Edna Elizabeth Magsam, age 96, of Baldwin, died on June 4, 2012 at the Baldwin Care Center, surrounded by family.  Edna was born on December 29, 1915 to Elmer and Olive (Vilven) Jenni in Crookston, Minnesota. On March 19, 1934, she married Raymond Jacob Magsam in Crookston, Minnesota. Their marriage would be blessed with thirteen children: Bertha, Gerald, Elmer, Marvin, Marlys, Larry, Sylvia, William, Gilbert, Rodney, Dean, Danny, and Mark.

Edna’s family referred to her as the matriarch of the family – always making sure those around her were happy. She was devoted to serving and loving the Lord. Her sense of humor was infectious and she always had a quick wit with everybody. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting.  

Edna is survived by her children, Bertha Magsam of Oklahoma City, OK, Gerald Magsam of Medford, WI, Elmer (Jane) Magsam of Roberts, WI, Marvin (Glenda) Magsam of Bemidgi, MN, Marlys (Bill) Martin of Oklahoma City, OK, Larry (Carol) Magsam of Emporia, KS, Sylvia (Bill) Nueske of Wittenberg, WI, William Magsam of Phoenix, AZ, Rodney (Donna) Magsam of Northfield, MN, Dean (Kathy) Magsam of Sulphur, OK, and Mark (Pam) Magsam of Palm Springs, CA; sisters, Ruth Woodstrum and Rena Willert; brother, John Jenni; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents, Elmer and Olive Jenni; sons, Gilbert and Danny; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Services for Edna will be held on Saturday, June 9 at 11 a.m. at the St. Croix Central Elementary School, 202 South Division Street, Roberts, Wisconsin.  Interment will follow at the Baldwin Cemetery.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the elementary school, as well as on Friday, June 8 from 5-8 p.m. at the O’Connell Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St., Baldwin, WI.
