Our beloved Georgia Ann Hatch, mother
to sons David, Daniel, and Christopher,
passed away on March 18th, 2024 at 715 in
the morning. In her final days she had many
visits from the caregivers, life-long friends,
and family who adored her so much. She
passed away peacefully in Hudson, WI
surrounded by family.
Georgia (Geeg to those who knew her)
was born on August 21st, 1944. Raised in
Hudson, WI, she graduated from Hudson
High School in 1962. Post-high school she
attended college courses at Macalester
College in St. Paul, MN and got her nursing
degree from Northwestern Hospital School
of Nursing, graduating in 1965.
Her career spanned many decades, and
included multiple areas of nursing, including
the hospital, the clinic, home health, and
hospice care. She spent her professional
time taking exceptional care of her patients,
and her personal time taking exceptional
care of her family. She began dating a
gentleman named William Lorenzo Hatch,
III while in high school, and on March 19,
1966 they were married. In 1970 they
moved to North Hudson, WI, where they
raised their 3 sons (David Michael, Daniel
William, and Christopher George). They
were married for 53 years, with William
passing away in 2019.
Geeg was very creative and fun-loving,
kind, and compassionate. She loved
nature, had a fondness for flowers, and
enjoyed all of its creatures (except spiders,
similar bugs, or anything that ate her
flowers). While close to everyone she
knew, she had a special bond with her
mother. They spent a lot of time together
doing crafts, and making handmade
keepsakes. They developed a brand called
Folklore Friends and were often seen at
craft fairs together with their wares.
Geeg was an incredibly caring and
genuine person. She always had time to
chat, and loved nothing more than to know
how you were, how your family was, and
what you’ve been up to. This deep sincerity
and genuine caring for others well-being
was felt by all she touched, from her
patients and colleagues as a nurse, to her
family and friends. Geeg will be so very
dearly missed by all who knew her. We ask
that she be remembered for the joy she
brought to others in life and not for the
sadness of her passing. She will live on in
all those lives graced with knowing her.
She is survived by her three sons and
their families: David and wife Tina with their
child Rowan, Daniel and wife Angelique
with their children Emerson, Logan, Audrey,
and Liam, and Christopher and wife
Kimberly and their children Laura, Ethan,
and Olivia, as well as her brother Michael
Mullen and his family (as well as about 6 or
so dogs that will be dearly missing their
nap-times with her). She was preceded in
death by her parents, George and Margaret
Mullen, her sister Mary Clair Mullen, and
her husband William Lorenzo Hatch, III.
A ceremony will be held at O’Connell
Funeral Home in Hudson, WI on April 20th,
2024, with a visitation from 10am-11am and
a service 11am. Flowers and memorial gifts
are welcome but not necessary.
