The brightest light, the most precious gift and our lives’ greatest joy left this world unexpectedly. God called Hudson Gregory Henriksen into his arms on January 8th  at only 18 short months old. He was born to parents Sam and Ginna Henriksen on July 7th, 2022 and filled their world with immeasurable joy. Hudson’s big, bright eyes captivated everyone who met him and his happiness sparkled through them. He had the most infectious smile and laugh that made his parents’ heart melt.

Hudson loved to talk. Even at a year-and-a-half old, he had so much to say. He loved to tell everyone he met “hi!” and answered every question with “yeah!” until just recently, when he discovered his new favorite phrase “no way!” Hudson loved to dance, sing and read and he loved to eat. Vegetables were his favorite, which almost no mother can say about their toddler. He was curious and incredibly smart and not afraid of anything.

Hudson was looking forward to his biggest role yet, becoming a big brother to his little brother who is due July. His parents, grandparents, aunt and uncles’ worlds are completely shattered by his passing. It’s an agony we wouldn’t wish on anyone. Hudson was incredibly loved by so, so many people.

He is forever and infinitely loved and missed by his parents Sam and Ginna, brother-to-be, beloved dog, Dolly and his favorite kitty, Olivia. Hudson is loved deeply by his Papa and Grammie, Ann and David Roe and Grandma and Grandpa Kathy and Jeff Henriksen-Riplinger.  He was also adored by “Auntie Meg” Megan Roe, uncle-to-be, Sean Rice and uncles Connor Roe and Alex and Erik Henriksen. His cousins Nash and Amaya will forever miss a huge part of their beautiful trio. His great-grandma, Yvonne Roe and great-grandpa Richard Herring looked forward to his visits and loved him dearly. As did so many great aunts, uncles and cousins.

Hudson was welcomed into heaven by his grandpa, Gregory Henriksen and great-grandparents William and Virginia Dunnigan, Clyde Roe, Rita and Don Johnson and Dorene and Bob Koby.

A visitation for Hudson will be on Monday, January 15th, 2024 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI from 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. There will be a funeral service on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 at Luther Memorial Church in South St. Paul at 11. am, with a visitation one hour prior to the church service. Lunch will be provided for those who wish to join the family. Please, if you knew or loved him, come celebrate Hudson’s beautiful life.

Hudson attended daycare at Luther’s Little Explorers at Luther Memorial Church. He loved his teachers and friends and they loved him. A special thanks to those wonderful teachers who nurtured and gave so much love to our sweet boy. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, please send any memorial donations to his daycare, Luther’s Little Explorers.

Our hearts are forever broken and our pain is too deep for words… and yet Hudson’s joy and happiness will live with us forever. As one of our favorite books reads, “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always. As long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be.”
