Kathy Luedtke

Kathy A. Luedtke, age 76 of Hudson, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 29, 2016. Kathy was born on October 23, 1940 in Hurley WI to parents Paul and Gertrude (Noskoviac) Durst. Kathy graduated from Columbus High School in Marshfield WI with the Class of 1958. She continued her education at UW Stevens Point, where she would meet her future husband. On December 26, 1959, she would be united in marriage to James Luedtke at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Hewitt, WI. Their union in marriage would be blessed with three children, Mark, Gregg, and Kari.

Kathy built many lasting friendships with people in the Hudson community from her work at First National Bank in Hudson for many years, and as an active parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Kathy had a lifelong enjoyment of golf, and treasured her time spent with friends in the Women’s Golf Group. Above all, Kathy adored her family, and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She loved attending their sporting events, dance recitals, school plays, concerts and musicals. Kathy will be missed dearly by family and friends alike.

Kathy is survived by her children, Gregg (Lara) Luedtke, and Kari (Scott) Fernholz; daughter-in-law, Renae Borden; grandchildren, Jake, Jordan, Zach, and Ben Luedtke, Shelby and Sam Luedtke, and Max, Luke and Ty Fernholz; siblings, Sherry (Joe) Derge, Lynn (Tom) Purmal, and Steve (Julie) Durst; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Luedtke; son, Mark Luedtke; and her parents, Paul and Gert Durst.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Kathy Luedtke will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 4th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St. in Hudson, WI. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. prior to the mass at church. A private family burial will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Services are in the care of the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI. 715-386-3725
