Lois Mae Van Someren, age 89 of Baldwin, passed away January 7, 2024 at the Baldwin Care Center.  Lois was born December 11, 1934 in Hammond, Wisconsin to Abner and Charlotte Johnson.  After graduating from Baldwin-Woodville High School in 1952, Lois was united in marriage on May 29, 1954 to Kenneth Van Someren.  Their marriage was blessed with three children:  Linda, Randy and Karen.

Lois had a passion to serve others.  She was an avid volunteer at Treasures of the Heart and enjoyed serving her community as a local bus driver for the Baldwin-Woodville School District.  She loved all the kids, and the kids all loved her.  Between routes, Lois would also help supervise on the playground during recess.

Lois enjoyed spending time with her family at their lake place on Wapogasset.  She loved socializing, and was often found playing the slots at Turtle Lake Casino, or bartending at the American Legion in Baldwin.  She also enjoyed playing card games or going for coffee with friends.  During her spare time, you could find Lois crocheting, coloring or watching sports, specifically wrestling or cheering for the Packers.  Throughout their life together, Lois and Kenny were fortunate to share many travels together, with some of their favorite destinations being the East Coast, Canada, and Montana.

Lois will remain in the hearts of her daughter Linda (Kevin) Booth; grandchildren Morgan Lee, Brandon (Emily) Van Someren, MacKenzie Juliane, Erin (Jacob) Braaten, Kayla Van Someren, Tanner (Emma) Booth, Olivia Booth, Alex (Davina) McCray; great-grandchildren Montino Carothers, Grace Van Someren, Esmée Lee, Zion Daniel, Tyce Van Someren, Courtland Braaten, Miela Lee; sister-in-laws Betty Johnson, Cindy Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenny Van Someren; children Randy Van Someren, Karen McCray; siblings Alvin Johnson, Lawrence Johnson; parents Abner and Charlotte Johnson.

A Visitation for Lois will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1350 Florence St., Baldwin, with a Memorial Service starting at 5:30 p.m.
