Margaret Ruth (Cochran) Lorrigan, 76, of Seattle, Washington, peacefully passed away on March 1, 2024, in Hudson, Wisconsin, after bravely battling Alzheimer’s disease. She left behind a legacy of love and warmth that will always remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her as she set out on her final journey with her loved ones by her side.

Born on February 25, 1948, in Seattle, Washington, Margaret was the second of seven children and the beloved and only daughter of Francis and Margaret (Moser) Cochran. Her early years were filled with adventures across various states, as the family accompanied their father during his service in the US Navy. From the beautiful shores of Hawaii to the serene landscapes of Oregon, Virginia, and California, Margaret’s journey through life was enriched with diverse experiences, culminating in her graduation from James J Hogan Senior High School in 1967.

In 1970, Margaret welcomed her daughter Darci (Castner) Jewell into the world, igniting a flame of motherly love and devotion that burned brightly until her final breath. In 1984, Margaret embarked on a new chapter of her life as she married Lance T Lorrigan, and together, they built their home in Algona, Washington. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brothers DeFord and Gale Cochran.

Margaret’s legacy lives on through her daughters Darci (Christian) Jewell and Lisa (Bill) Ross, her son Derrick Lorrigan, her granddaughters Ayrica and Baylee Jewell, Emily (Keith) Doyle, and Olivia Stein (Alex Crane), and her great-granddaughters Jozy and Alexia Stein. Additionally, Margaret leaves behind her brothers Mickey, Gene, Jay, and Duane Cochran, as well as many loved cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Beyond her immediate family, Margaret held a special place in the hearts of the Stark/Duncan family, who affectionately regarded her as Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma—a testament to Margaret’s boundless warmth, love, and nurturing spirit that touched the lives of all who crossed her path.

Margaret found fulfillment in her career at Boeing, where her dedication and expertise left an indelible mark. Outside of work, she reveled in the simple joys of spending time with family, nurturing her beautiful garden, dancing to the rhythm of her favorite tunes, and cheering on her beloved Seahawks.

Following Lance’s passing, Margaret relocated from Washington to Wisconsin to be closer to her loved ones, where she remained until her final days. The family extends profound gratitude to the caregivers and medical staff at Comforts of Home and St. Croix Hospice in Hudson, Wisconsin, for their unwavering care and compassion during Margaret’s illness.

A memorial service celebrating Margaret’s remarkable life will be held in Hudson, Wisconsin, on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 11 am. A second memorial service will be held in Seattle, Washington, on June 29, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Auburn, Washington, with details to be announced. Margaret will be laid to rest at Washington Memorial Cemetery, beside her beloved parents and the family who have gone before her.
