Margaret Agnes Walsh, age 85 of St. Paul, MN, formerly of Hammond, WI, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024, at Auburn Manor in Chaska, MN.

Margaret was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1938, in Richland County, WI, the daughter of John & Mary (Gorman) Walsh, and 30 minutes after her twin brother Patrick. Margaret attended Hammond Public School and graduated in 1957 from Our Lady of Sorrows High School in Ladysmith, WI. She was proud of her work at First National Bank in downtown St Paul, followed by 26 years at the State of Minnesota until her much deserved retirement in 2001.

She had the gift of playing the piano beautifully by ear. Most any song requested she could play perfectly. She played at her previous assisted living facilities for parties, Mass, or for anyone who would listen. She was a devout Catholic who will be remembered for her unlimited generosity and kindness. Margaret loved St Patrick’s Day, being 100% Irish, and enjoyed many years at the St Paul parade and Landmark Center celebrating her birthday.

Margaret is survived by her brother Joseph Walsh; sister-in-law Kay Walsh; Godsons Daniel McNamara and Brian Walsh; loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Mary, Patricia (Pat) McNamara, Edward (Irene) Walsh, twin brother Patrick, and sister-in-law Marian Walsh. Nieces and nephews Kathleen, Stephen, Joseph, Kevin, and Mary McNamara, and Sue Zelhofer.

Visitation 10-11 AM with Memorial Mass 11 AM on Saturday April 6, 2024, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1265 Ridgeway St., Hammond, WI. Interment in the church cemetery. Lunch to follow in the church basement. Please wear green to celebrate her Irish heritage.

Memorials to St Mary’s Immaculate Conception Parish, Hammond, WI, per Margaret’s wishes.

The family is grateful to the staff at Ramsey County Care Center and most recently Auburn Manor who took such amazing care of Margaret over the past 4 years.
