Marilyn Bol

Marilyn Ilene Bol, age 86 of Woodville, WI, passed away January 3, 2019 at United Hospital in St. Paul. Marilyn was born May 31, 1932 in River Falls, WI; the daughter of Marion and Irma (Geurkink) VanDien. She was united in marriage to Harold Edward Bol on August 26, 1955 at the First Reformed Church in Baldwin. Their marriage was blessed with 5 children: David, Duane, Diane, Daryl, and Debbie. Marilyn worked at Bob Country Meat Market for 10 years, then in housekeeping at the Woodville Motel for 23 years.

Marilyn’s heart was most content being surrounded by her family. She cherished the days that she babysat her grandchildren. Marilyn loved to be in the kitchen cooking and baking for her family. In her earlier years, she enjoyed dancing, and was especially fond of country music by the Statler Brothers and Oak Ridge Boys. Marilyn treasured the vacations across the United States with Harold to visit his lifelong Navy friends. Most recently, Marilyn delighted in watching television game shows.

Marilyn will remain in the hearts of her children, David Bol of Woodville, Duane (Mary Ellen) Bol of Baldwin, Diane Guski of Baldwin, Daryl Bol of Woodville, and Debbie (Scott) Fish of Chisago City, MN; grandchildren: Tara (Rob) Hines, Andrew Guski, Heather Bol, Tyler Fish, Alex Guski, Aaron Guski, Travis Fish, and Abby Guski; brothers, Roger (Edie) VanDien and Roy VanDien; sisters, Rachel (John) Terkelson and Doris (Ralph) Freitag; and sisters-in-law, Bernice VanDien and Delores Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; and brothers, Eugene and Richard VanDien. 

A Visitation will take place 4:00 – 7:00 PM Sunday, January 6, 2019 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St., Baldwin, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 7, 2019 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Marilyn will be laid to rest with her husband, Harold at the Baldwin Cemetery. Her grandchildren will have the honor as pallbearers. Memorials are preferred.
