Sidney Cecil Anderson passed away on April 13, 2024, at the age of 76 in New Richmond, WI. Born on August 17, 1947, in Baldwin, WI, Sid brought endless energy, joy, and a youthful spirit to all aspects of his life and was known to be a bit mischievous. Growing up he was nicknamed “Sid the Kid,” which followed him his whole life.

He enlisted in the United States Army in 1968 and proudly served in the Vietnam war. Upon returning from his service Sid started as a lumberjack before starting his own drywall business. He took great pride in his log work and his chainsaw, working to build a home from the trees on his family farm. He also took pride in his drywall business, especially in teaching his stepson Daniel the trade and seeing him excel in it, with constant compliments from contractors. Sid also enjoyed raising sheep; lamb season was an annual highlight for more than 20 years. He brought a “work hard, play hard” mentality to everything he did.

From his high school days as a track star to his participation in numerous marathons as an adult, Sid’s love to go fast was evident throughout his life. His adventuresome spirit knew no bounds, always seeking new experiences. Sid truly lived by the motto that “laughter doeth good like a medicine.” He was also a talented guitarist and singer, and had a heart for helping others, as seen through the many mission trips he took with his wife Rose to Mexico and South America with Pioneers Outreach on the Amazon.

Sid’s energetic and outgoing personality will be remembered and deeply missed by his loving wife Rose, his daughter Tammy; his six stepchildren, Jennifer, Bernie, Rebecca, Heather, Daniel, Sarah; his 35 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his five siblings; and his many nieces, nephews, extended family, close friends and his community.

He will be welcomed in Heaven, to rejoice in eternal life along with his parents, Gordon and Irene Anderson; son Joseph Anderson; infant son Sidney Anderson; infant brother Gary Anderson; father-in-law Bernard Roemer and mother-in-law Josephine Roemer (Donald) Triggs.

Friends and family are invited to gather in honor of Sid’s life on Sunday April 21, 2024, at O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Visitation will begin at 10, with a funeral service at 11 followed by lunch. Burial will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
