In Memory of William "Bill" Allds

William “Bill” Allds, age 93 of Sun City West, Arizona, passed away March 11, 2022 at home. He was the only child of Anna and Jack Allds of Hudson, Wisconsin. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Wisconsin State University at River Falls, he went to California to begin a teaching career of 35 years in the Manhattan Beach School District. While teaching, he managed to work for 15 years in the Manhattan Beach Recreation Department and received a Master’s degree from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles.

He was very proud of his Danish heritage (mother’s side) and being eligible for the Sons of the American Revolution (father’s side). He discovered that his family had come into the New Hampshire Colony in the 1730’s. During his retirement years, he and his wife, Gail, enjoyed many cruises and traveling to many of the states and countries of the world. He was very happy to do volunteer work at the food banks, the hospital, and the thrift stores.

He will be greatly missed by his family: Gail, his wife of 60 years; his son, John (Dia) of Mesa, AZ; his daughter, Mary Ann, and grandsons, Declan and Cortez, of San Francisco, CA; nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family is very appreciative of the wonderful care given by Banner Health Hospice during the past four months. Any donations made in his honor should be given to Open Arms, P.O. Box 2198 Litchfield Park, AZ, or St. Vincent de Paul Society of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Sun City West. A Memorial Service and Burial is planned for late April in Hudson, Wisconsin.

    • Bill was a wonderful Father-in-law. He was always so kind and very funny. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was a volunteer, a teacher and and a outstanding chef! We enjoyed many fine meals. Of course Gail was always available to be his very able helper. I will miss him very much but I’m so happy he is with Our Savior.

    • Bill and his wife, Anna were very best friends of my Dad’s Mother and Dad, Howard and Lilah Brown.
I hope they are celebrating St Patrick’s Day dancing and singing together. I’m sure Bob McGrew is right there with them.
So painful to lose loved ones.

My father was an incredible man. He was one of a kind and my best friend.
There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of him and smile…
Life is going to be different without him, but I am grateful I got to call him “My” dad !!
I never questioned if he loved or cared for me because he made it so obvious.
I still feel him with me each day. My mind still talks to him. My heart still looks for him.
But My soul knows he is at peace. I am grateful for my dad and I will miss him forever.
      Thank you, dad.
      Until we meet again…..
      Your son

    • Allds Family,
I am very sorry to hear this. I grew up living close to your grandma and always looked forward to your visits to Hudson. Your dad was always kind to the neighborhood kids. Prayers to your family during this time.
